Featured Trouts Guide Report of the Week - 3/24 Edition

Ivan Orsic / Mar 24, 2021

Each week we choose one report from our Guide Reports section of the FISHING INFORMATION page! Click the Guide Report dropdown and you'll find up-to-date Guide Reports from our professional fly fishing guides. Each report will detail the location, timing, hatch information, fly selection, and rigging.

Check out this recent report from Brian Hilbert. Brian's report discusses a recent float trip down the mighty Colorado River which is waking from its winter slumber! Stay tuned to our Guide Reports section for more reports as we continue to get clients out on the water.

LOCATION: Colorado River
GUIDE:
Brian Hilbert
LENGTH OF TRIP:
Float Trip

"The Colorado River continues to fish really well. Tons of midges ranging from size 24-16 everywhere but still no fish rising to them. Fish are starting to spread out some but are still preferring the deeper water. If you are struggling to find fish, add more weight before changing flies. Caught fish on midge imitations, small stones, scuds, rainbow warriors and various other attractors I tie. We nymph fished all day and didn’t throw any streamers. Saw a good hatch of blue wing olives but no risers to them. Spring is here!!!"
