Featured Trouts Guide Report of the Week - 5/27 Edition

Ivan Orsic / May 27, 2019

We're proud to bring a new weekly feature to the blog this season. Every week, we'll bring you a guided trip report fresh off of the water from one of our professional Fly Fishing Guides. Each week, we will feature a report that will detail the location, timing, hatch information, fly selection, and rigging. For this week's feature, here's a report from Trouts Denver Guide Nick Burkus.

LOCATION: South Platte River below Deckers
Nick Burkus
Half-Day Walk/Wade

"Most fish were in the deepest, darkest parts of the holes/runs, there was not a cloud in the sky. About half the fish hit a pink worm. The other half ate baetis nymphs/emergers."

Best Flies

San Juan Worm #12 (Pink)
Chocolate Foam Back Emerger #20

To book Nick Burkus or any of our professional fly fishing guides, please give us a shout at 303-733-1434!
