Featured Trouts Guide Report of the Week - 7/8 Edition

Ivan Orsic / Jul 8, 2019

We're proud to bring a new weekly feature to the blog this season. Every week, we'll bring you a guided trip report fresh off of the water from one of our professional Fly Fishing Guides. Each week, we will feature a report that will detail the location, timing, hatch information, fly selection, and rigging. For this week's feature, here's a report from Trouts Denver Guide Tucker Bamford.

LOCATION: South Platte River
GUIDE:
Tucker Bamford
LENGTH OF TRIP:
Half Day Walk/Wade

"The fish were eating pretty well today, but we had a hard time getting them in the net with the big flows. Broke off a couple of others. Big tippet and big flies were key. Clarity was good within 3-4 miles of Deckers so we did a lot of sight fishing. Tube hatch is picking up steam."

Best Flies

Brown San Juan worm #14
Olive Pine Leech #16
