Trouts Fly Fishing Forecast | January 1st Edition

Ivan Orsic / Jan 1, 2021

Happy New Year's from all of us at Trouts Fly Fishing. We hope you rang in the new year in style and hopefully you're spending your time off on the water. It's still winter here in Colorado and focusing your energy on the warmest parts of the day will prove to be productive. With overnight lows in the single digits up in the high country, tailwaters will be a more consistent and dependable option. However, if we get a nice stretch of warmer weather, don't be afraid to take a chance and head to your favorite freestone.

Work on depth control, mending, and rigging are all skills to hone during these colder months. Simplify your fly choice and get the flies down to the fish.
