Fly Tying 101 and Fly Tying 201 Class Openings!

Brandon Rodriguez / Jan 10, 2022

Trouts Fly Fishing is excited to partner with Umpqua Feather Merchants to offer both an introductory level Fly Tying (Fly Tying 101) class and our intermediate/advanced fly tying class (Fly Tying 201). Many of us here at Trouts understand how necessary fly tying is to the fly fishing community, which is why we want to open our doors and provide those passionate about tying or those unsure about it, the space to create, learn and mingle with other like-minded folks.

If you someone brand new to the art of fly tying then, you will want to join us for our Fly Tying 101 classes. This class is mindfully built towards the beginning fly tier. It will cover general terminology, tool identification and application, basic materials and their uses, and the best part - tying flies! Upon completion of the class, you'll walk away with different fly patterns that are ready to fish on our local waters!

Fly Tying 201 Dates

Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at 6:00pm - 7:00pm - COST: $50

It is important to remember that in our Trouts Fly Tying 201 classes, you'll build on the foundation that we established in Umpqua Fly Tying 101. This means that in our Fly Tying 201 course, participants will spend the class time learning versatile, box filling, fish-catching fly patterns that will expound upon your burgeoning fly tying knowledge base. Each Umpqua Fly Tying 201 class will take over two hours and by the end of the course, you will be ready to start filling your fly box with more technical trout fly patterns.

We are pleased to offer these fly tying classes through the fall, winter, and spring months in person, at our Denver shop location. Spots for each of these classes are limited, so make sure you reserve your spot ahead of time! If you would like to book your reservation over the phone, feel free to call us at 303-733-1434
