Get your switch on – April 20th

Ivan Orsic / Apr 10, 2013

This fish was hooked and landed on our Featured Property - fishing report below

We have only three seats left for our Switch Rod and Spey Casting Clinic being held on April 20th. The class is only $275 and you will get a chance to get into big migratory rainbow trout that are moving from the Colorado River up into the Lower Blue River. In addition to a great fly fishing opportunity, you’ll also get to learn the basics of two handed casting and the benefits of single hand casting with a longer fly rod.

Our guides have been fishing this water and here is a recent fishing report from this Trouts Guide Service Featured Property on the famed Lower Blue River.

Fishing Report for the Lower Blue River: "Big migratory fish have moved up and can be targeted with egg patterns, San Juan Worms in size 14, Black Beauties size 18, Rojo Midges size 18-20, and big streamers either stripped or swung. Around noon we had a blue winged olive hatch which provided a great session of dry fly fishing. The weather throughout the day was variable – clouds, drizzle, sleet, and sunshine – pretty typical for fly fishing in Colorado in the spring. Later in the day, the smaller midge patterns seemed to be more productive and the property fished excellent from the top to the lower sections with sustained action and activity throughout the day."
