Heads Up: Colorado River - Two Bridges Hazard

Ivan Orsic / Jun 9, 2017

Heads up if you are planning on fishing the middle section of the Colorado River near Two Bridges. With warming temperatures and rising flows (4230 cfs at the time of this posting) leading into the weekend, the Two Bridges hazard (the bridge itself) near Bond may be impassable for vessels floating down the river, according to a recent report we received from the BLM Field Office today. The BLM has also reported that the upper gate has been unlocked, so that boaters may take out above the hazard and/or put back in below it. According to Trouts Frisco Head Guide Zeke Hersh, this hazard becomes impassable the closer the river gets to 5,000 cfs. Stay safe out there and enjoy your weekend on the water. As always, if you have any questions, please give us a call 303-733-1434 in the Denver shop or 970-668-2853 in the Frisco shop.
