Making It Happen On The Platte!

Ivan Orsic / May 15, 2015

You may recognize Todd's face from the recent Bighorn Hosted Trip Post (hence the hat...I guess we'll let it slide Todd). He sent these pictures over to me last night of a recent outting to the S. Platte. According to Todd (who's been out several times this week) the high water fishing has been pretty consistent and once you find one fish, you've likely found several. Reports are that a lot of weight, a little bit heavier tippet, and an egg, San Juan Worm, Two-Bit Hooker and a Rainbow Warrior have all been putting fish in the net. Of all the flies listed, a San Juan in either brown or red has put the most fish in the net for him.

Equipment used: Orvis Helios 2 9'5wt Tip Flex, Hatch 4 Plus Reel, SA GPX Fly Line, Rio 4x Flouroflex Plus Tippet, Rio Powerflex 3x Leader.

Thanks for sharing the photos Todd and way to get it done in the big water! Got some photos from a recent outting you'd like to share? Send them to kyle@troutsflyfishing.com along with a brief description of what you were using and where you were fishing and we'll do our best to work it into the Blog/Instagram!
