Product Spotlight: Fishpond/Voormi- Introducing the Co-Lab Access Pullover

Ivan Orsic / Dec 8, 2014

It's safe to say Fishpond has easily become one of the most 'household names' there is when it comes to quality fly fishing packs and bags. And while they've certainly proven themselves in this realm, if you've been on their website lately, you may have noticed they're starting to expand their reach into the world of apparel and footware. And yes, I'm excited about this.

As far as the apparel side of things is concerned, one of the most exciting products I've seen come off the line is a result of their collaboration with another Colorado company, Voormi.

I know, I know, Voormi? I hadn't heard of them either up until this point. However, after seeing their line of wool based clothing in person, I don't know how this brand has escaped me over the years. It's the real deal in every aspect of the word. Based out of Pagosa Springs, Voormi makes all of their products right on the spot. No outsourcing, no shipping over seas...just 100% American, or perhaps more importantly, Colorado-Made goodness.

This initial collaboration (appropriately titled the Co-Lab) has produced a 1/4 zip pullover, as well as a 1/4 zip hoody.

More importantly, Trouts is pleased to be the ONLY place in town to get your hands on this stuff! We have the 1/4 zip pullover in-stock and ready to ship as of this writing. According to the powers-that-be, the hoody will be here next week.

The Co-Lab Access Pullover is 100% wool and is the perfect weight for any active day when the temperatures drop. One of the coolest things about this (which I've seen in person, and you'll see in the attached video) is the wool material used. This isn't your grandfathers wool sweater by any stretch of the imagination. Voormi uses a DWR (Durable Water Repellent) treated SURFACE HARDENED™ Thermal Wool construction in their pieces. This essentially creates a hydrophobic exterior that makes water bead up and run right off. It's pretty crazy to see in person, however is going to be SOOO nice to put to use on the river. How many times have you had a fish splashing close to the net and get you wet? You can embrace these sitations with a smile on your face from here on out...as long as you're wearing Voormi that is. Oh, and did I mention the wool used is LOCALLY SOURCED?

Check out the attached video courtesy of Louis Cahill at Gink and Gasoline, or better yet, swing by the shop and check the Fishpond/Voormi Co-Lab Access Pullover out for yourself!....

And yes, we'll have the Chaco's in store as soon as they're available as well!
