Spinney Mountain State Park Opening on 4/1

Ivan Orsic / Mar 29, 2018

No, this isn't an April Fool's joke. Spinney Mountain State Park is opening for the 2018 boating season on Sunday, April 1st at 6:17 AM. The lake is ice-free and ready to give up some of those famous Spinney Reservoir brutes. If you are unfamiliar with Spinney, the entire park is a "Gold Medal" fishery. Spinney has a great deal of shoreline fishing opportunity, belly boat and pontoon fishing opportunities, as well as stretches of the Dream Stream for walk-wade access.

For an entire map of the park, click HERE. Come on down to pick up your stillwater flies for this weekend. We've got chironomids, leeches, eggs, wooly buggers, and all sorts of stillwater goodies ready for your Easter Sunday on South Park's premier stillwater fishery.

Don't forget: Your 2017 Colorado Annual Fishing Licenses Expire after Saturday 3/31/18. Make sure to stop by the shop to get current for 2018!
