Our good pals over at Field and Stream’s Fly Talk are always sharing quick and easy to understand fly fishing tips. This one, about setting your hook downstream vs upstream, will help you avoid pulling your fly from a fish’s mouth and missing that connection. On the water, we see this happen all the time with both subsurface nymph rigs as well as dry fly fishing on the surface.
