The CURRENT Podcast | Episode 15 - Hanging with Kirk Deeter | hosted by Will Rice

Ivan Orsic / Jul 23, 2021

The CURRENT is a low-key, light-hearted fly fishing podcast hosted by Will Rice. Will is back again, thumbing through his Rolodex of accomplished anglers and friends in the fly fishing industry to talk about what's going on in their neck of the woods.

In this episode, Will Rice welcomes author, editor, and fly fishing legend, Kirk Deeter. Co-author of the Little Red Book of Fly Fishing with Charlie Meyers, Kirk is the editor for Trout, Trout Unlimited's quarterly magazine, and editor-at-large for Field & Stream magazine. His stories have appeared in Garden & Gun, The Drake, 5280, Fly Rod & Reel, Fly Fisherman, Big Sky Journal, Salt Water Sportsman, and Trout, among other places.

Grab a cold beverage and enjoy a quick hang with Kirk Deeter. Will and Kirk touch on their mutual friend the legendary Charlie Meyers, Deeter's love of brown trout, his upcoming book "The Little Black Book of Fly Fishing," his path through fly fishing, mousing for trout, a couple of tips and tricks, and much more.

Come for Deeter talking brown trout and stay for Will channeling the energy of a small black mouse who has fallen on hard times and has found himself swimming for his life after tumbling down from a cutbank.

You can find the podcast on Apple Music, Spotify & Stitcher. If you enjoy what Will is putting together with The CURRENT podcast, we ask that you please rate it and leave it a review on Apple Podcasts & Spotify! Thanks for listening!
