WATCH // How to Tie in Materials

Brandon Rodriguez / Jan 29, 2022

Even though we are technically on the downslope of winter, there are plenty more snowy days and nights to be had for many anglers, which means breaking out the vise tying up some flies daydreaming about warmer days to come. On the other hand, there are new fly tyers still unsure how to navigate this whole "fly tying thing." That is where we come in.

Getting started in fly tying can be overwhelming. There are seemingly a million terms, techniques, tools, and the like. But, it doesn't need to be that hard. We're here to make it as simple and approachable as possible. In this episode, Trouts own Eric Schmidt talks through how to start tying in (or locking in) materials to your fly.

Remember, it's the weekend so, sit back and take it easy this Saturday, pour up a cup of coffee and enjoy the video. If you enjoyed it, remember to leave a like, comment, or subscribe to the channel for more fly fishing content!
