TRIP SUMMARY

Float fishing continues to produce action packed days on the water. Lots of big rainbows and browns. We stuck with nymphing all day as the trout seem to be really keyed in on baetis nymphs. Shea Gunkel’s shot glass baetis and shot glass emerger in purple (size 18) were our top flies. I’m fishing a pretty long leader (8’-9’) with a 3 fly rig. I also like to keep my rigs heavy with enough weight to get my flies down and keep them there. Takes can be very subtle so set the hook on every tick and hesitation. Good luck out there!
