TRIP SUMMARY

The Arkansas has been fishing exceptionally well moving into mid-spring. We have been seeing a decent Baetis (BWO) hatches sporadically throughout the day. We have still found the most luck fishing nymphs sub-surface, but fishing to rising fish is certainly possible. There is also a decent amount of water running through the fishery at this time, and that will continue to grow as May moves forward. Fishing will only get better. Patterns we found success using were Jig Rainbow Warriors - Size 16, Perdigon, Black/Red - Size 18, and Shotglass Baetis, Red - Size 20. Zebra midges and other Baetis patterns work just as well!
