We started the morning rigging up mid column nymph rigs using a pats rubber leg and a caddis pupae imitation that I tie. When we arrived on the water, it was a caddis explosion. Fishing was extremely tough due to the fact that there so many naturals in the water, fish were keyed in on the naturals but extremely full. We hooked around 20 fish but we absolutely had to work hard. When a hatch is of that magnitude, often times the fish get full and fishing slows tremendously.
When it was time for lunch, we indulge in " Bo Swine" burgers, a family secret and let me tell you, they are amazing. Over all an incredible day to be on the Mighty Colorado. The most insane caddis hatch I have ever seen, lets go fish!
