TRIP SUMMARY

We had a great day on the water today despite the fact that most of the fish didn't make it to the net. That's just how it goes some days. The rising flows had fish chewing on brown worms, PMD nymphs like hot belly pheasant tails, and trico nymphs like black RS2's. We found a few risers in the late morning eating tricos along the edges, but couldn't connect despite getting a few fish to eat the dry flies. Most of our strikes came at the head of runs, with a few fish hanging out in riffles in the afternoon. The majority of our strikes came on the first few drifts in a new spot, so if you head that way, keep covering new water for your greatest chance at success. Also, don't be afraid to fish in the faster water, just make sure your rig is weighted properly for it.
