TRIP SUMMARY

The Denver South Platte can be challenging, for even seasoned anglers, but Fly Fishing First-Timers Dani & Scott were quick studies and were able to meet some of the very high-quality residents of the DSP! Winners of Colorado Parks & Wildlife's Take a Friend Fishing Contest, Scott and Dani scored a full day of fishing on the Urban River and used that time to kickstart their fly fishing journey. We surveyed the river to see as many species as possible, and 5 Species were hooked and two were landed, including Trophy Rainbows, and a Trouts Favorite, a Monster White Sucker! The River is in prime shape and all species are feeding actively. Heavy Metal Worms were the hot ticket for Trout & Suckers, and the Smallies and Carp will never say no to a jugged black leech.
