TRIP SUMMARY

An awesome outing with a great group of people who killed it. The morning was hot with trout chasing down everything from tan worms to small midge emergers. Go with flies that give you confidence on the river at this point. For us it was Top Secret Midge, Manhattan Midge, Black/Grey RS2, Tan worms, Mercury Baetis, and the Juju PMD. Fish are really moving into the faster water early in the day so don't be afraid to cast it out in the middle of the current and save those back eddies for dry flies if a hatch presents itself. The afternoon slowed down a bit, but after some weight and depth adjustments we were able to target some trout in the upper column and bring them in. Keep checking those water temps so you're not fishing in dangerously high temperatures and keep those fish happy.
