TRIP SUMMARY

Tricos are still going strong at Deckers and the trout couldn’t be happier! The morning bite surrounding the tricos has been a little tough but there are still some willing fish. During the dun, but primarily the spinner fall, the trout are rising like crazy. I don’t spend a lot of time fishing for the trico dun risers because the trout aren’t as happy rising to them. I spend more of my time fishing during the spinner fall. Although I don’t fish them on top, instead I use a lightly suspended rig with a size 24 trico spinner with off color wings (not white). Outside of the spinner fall I’m having the most luck with olive scuds and small, black RS2s and North Platte emergers.
