TRIP SUMMARY

Full day at Deckers. Fished the Trumble section from 7AM-3PM. Took a water temp right off the bat at 49 degrees. Midges were coming off found fish in deeper slower water feeding right away. Caught fish on a size 24 foam wing emerger (chocolate thunder). By mid morning water temps came up to around 55 degrees and we started seeing some small mayflies. Fish started rising so we switched from nymphing to throwing some dries. We caught fish on a size 20 parachute Adams and a size 18 extended body pmd. Caught our biggest fish of the day on a dry fly 20+ rainbow. Wind picked up and bugs kinda disappeared. We went back to nymphing finding fish in riffles, caught a few fish on leeches, juju pmd imitation, black juju flashback, and foam wing chocolate thunder. We took and early lunch around 11AM. Water temps were right around 59 when we went for lunch. We were back on the water by 12. Fishing was slower after lunch. Started out nymphing but saw a few random risers so we tried throwing some dry flies. Fish were picky but we were able to get fish to eat a pmd sparkle dun, and parachute adams. While nymphing we had fish eat pats rubber leg, leeches, and juju pmd. We saw water temps get up to around 63 degrees before calling it around 2:30ish.
