Current River Flow Updates

Latest update: 6/27/2022--

Flows below Strontia Springs Res. are at 290 CFS this week. The heavier nymphs mentioned below in sizes #14-18 are good starting points. There have also been reports of good dry fly action. #14-16 parachutes, elk hairs, and stimulators work well for dries here. Clarity gradually improves as you travel upstream.

River Information

Waterton Canyon is a very good fishery located close to home that will always produce a few fish. Here at the fly shop, we believe that Waterton is one of the top locations in the front range to either learn to fish, teach someone to fish, or even practice a new style of fishing. Due to this stretch being located in a canyon, it will eventually gather quite a bit of ice on the edges. The weeks before the freeze are a fantastic time to intercept a few fish while they are fattening up for winter.
